Counselling is a safe and confidential space
Your information is kept strictly confidential; however, please be aware of the limitations to confidentiality as follows:
If I am concerned about your safety or the safety of others, I may share information with a third party. This may be your GP or other professional, as appropriate. Where possible, I will discuss this with you first.
If the information revealed by you indicates that you, another person, or your workplace may be in danger.
This includes offences under The Road Traffic Act 1988, The Prevention of Terrorism Act 2000, The Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1994 and The Children's Act 1989 and 2004. If information discussed needed to be disclosed, it would be confined to what is strictly necessary and, wherever possible,
I receive regular clinical supervision, as required by the UKCP. I do not share the client's identity; it is just a space for me to get support about the work in order to provide the best service to clients.
